coco at the dentist

cohen had his first dentist appointment yesterday.  i know what you're thinking, he's 5 years old and he should have had one by now but we don't see doctors.  not unless something is incredibly wrong,  on the rare occasion that one of us isn't feeling our best, we rely on a cabinet full of herbs and tinctures and plenty of cuddles.  

since we are moving overseas we need to make sure we are all in excellent health before we are allowed to go and since my neighbor is a dental assistant she recommended i go to her and it was the nicest dentist office i have ever seen! i wanted to take pics but i didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.  the staff was so nice and cohen was an angel.  he sat perfectly still during the x-rays and cleaning and the consultation.  i was really impressed but not surprised.  after the appointment he and i had an afternoon out on the town where we went to lunch and got him some new shirts and a toy for being so awesome.

a wednesday tradition

yesterday was my first day doing something really summery.  the pool here opened so coco and i went with my friend april and her boys when they got out of school, we swam and splashed and snacked.  i didn't even take any pictures because i was too busy joining in on the fun!

afterwards we stopped by a local cake shop for free cupcakes! they have this thing where every wednesday on their facebook page they post a password and if you go into the shop and say it, you get their cupcake of the day on the house!  they were super delicious and we plan on going once a week after the pool, and thus a new wednesday tradition was formed.

a new necklace + basin

a couple of years ago, during the mister's first deployment to iraq, i ordered my first lisa leonard necklace. it was the open circle one and it says cohen on the front and my heart on the back.  a couple weeks ago i won a giveaway for lisa leonard and i got to order another one, this one has a little pearl attached.  its so cool to see how the company has grown since my last order!  it arrived in this adorable little bag.  i love it!

ps.  we went to the basin to let cohen play in the sand and we left some love behind.

a little playlist

what a weekend, i've never done so much outside physical labour in my life!  today wasn't so bad because not only did cohen hang out at work with me for a few hours but the mister helped me with my first round of watering.  i finally get to relax inside and i'm celebrating by watching my hollywood love on hatfields & mccoys and listening to this playlist i made for work today.  so beat!

the last time we were in baltimore was february 2011, we visited the aquarium and took a photo of cohen on this crab.  when went back last week and ran into the same crab and took another photo of him on it.  its amazing to me how much he has changed in the past year!
